Hotel Zu Hause is located in the original and legendary cabaret district Schöneberg, whose heyday was played out in the 1920s and 30s.
The English-born author Christopher Isherwood writings while he lived in Schöneberg include: Goodbye to Berlin in 1939. It was filmed in 1972 as the musical Cabaret with Liza Minnelli in the lead role.
Marlene Dietrich was born in Schöneberg in 1901 (same year, this house was built) and later grew up at different addresses in Schöneberg.
